This year, Jakarta Provincial Government will add 10 Controlled Atmosphere Storage (CAS) machines.

Currently we already have three CAS machines and we will add 10 more units this year

Every large markets in Jakarta are planned to have two CAS machines. 

"Currently we already have three CAS machines and we will add 10 more units this year," stated Darjamuni, Head Dept. of Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP), Thursday (6/28).

He hopes city's food tenacity, especially for meat, onion, and chili commodities to reach the target by adding more CAS machines. Because CAS machine can store food commodities such as meat, onion, and chili up to six months.

"So we can ensure our stock availability," he added.

He also convinced that adding CAS machines can help his side to overcome rising prices of onion, chili, and meat that usually happen. Also, those 13 CAS machines can store 20 tons of chili and onion supplies per day.
